Southgate Garden
Southgate Garden is a restaurant that I’ve been frequenting at, since I was young. Its a restaurant that my family loves. As the branding seem outdated, I decided to do a rebrand as part of this project.
The current branding did not have any type of design system that kept the brand together. This resulted in being a restaurant that was not very approachable to foreign people that could not speak or understand Korean.

New Branding
Namdaemun (Southgate) is one of the Eight Gates in the Fortress Wall of Seoul, South Korea, which surrounded the city in the Joseon dynasty.
That is why the logo is in a shape of a octagon—that has 8 sides. I decided to put two octagons because Namdaemun was originally one of three main gates, the others being the East Gate (Dongdaemun) and the now-demolished West Gate in the Seodaemun-gu district. Therefore only two main gates exist today.
